MY NAME IS SISTER REBORNS... THIS IS MY STORY
I am from South Africa.
My struggle with sexual addiction began when I was only eleven years old, long before I understood the dangers of pornography or the emotional consequences of abuse.
The root of my struggle, however, started much earlier.
When I was only six years old, I experienced repeated childhood sexual abuse from a relative. The abuse continued for some time until my parents unknowingly rescued me by taking me away to live with them.
Although I escaped the abuse physically, the emotional wounds remained deeply rooted within me.
As I grew older, I developed unhealthy sexual habits that gradually became part of my daily life.
I did not have my first boyfriend until I was twenty-one years old.
When I eventually surrendered my life to Jesus Christ, I experienced freedom for about a year. I loved serving God and sincerely desired to live a holy life.
Unfortunately, I later entered an ungodly relationship. Before long, I returned to pornography and other destructive sexual behaviors.
What began as occasional temptation slowly became a painful cycle that continued for more than twenty-eight years.
THE TURNING POINT THAT CHANGED MY LIFE
One day, a friend invited me to a large church
As the pastor preached, every message seemed directed at my life. I responded to the altar call and genuinely gave my life to Christ.
Everything seemed different.
- I enjoyed reading my Bible.
- I loved praying.
- I worshipped with joy.
- I believed my old life was finally behind me.
However, sometime later, after receiving a smartphone, I slowly drifted back into consuming ungodly content. Little by little, my old habits returned.
Because I spent many nights attending worldly gatherings, my spiritual life began to weaken. Although I prayed for a healthier Christian environment, my personal struggles continued to grow.
Eventually, I entered another unhealthy relationship that led me back into sexual sin.
One day, a junior pastor approached me after receiving a vision concerning my life. Deeply convicted, I ended the relationship and became more committed to serving in church.
Outwardly, everything appeared well.
Inwardly, the battle continued.
I could preach, minister, and witness the Holy Spirit moving during church services, yet later find myself overwhelmed by temptation.
Each failure left me feeling ashamed, discouraged, and emotionally exhausted.
Without realizing it, I was also feeding my struggles through romantic books, worldly entertainment, and other influences that continually stirred sinful desires instead of strengthening my walk with God.
LIVING A DOUBLE LIFE
For seven years after giving my life to Christ, I lived a painful double life.
- I prayed.
- I fasted.
- I served faithfully in church.
From the outside, many people believed I was spiritually strong. Yet privately, I was fighting battles that I could not overcome on my own.
Each time I fell into temptation, I promised God it would be the last time. But before long, I found myself trapped in the same cycle again. Guilt, shame, and self-condemnation became constant companions.
As time passed, the struggle became even more intense. I also experienced recurring disturbing dreams that left me emotionally drained and spiritually discouraged. Even after periods of prayer and fasting, the attacks seemed to continue.
For many years, I suffered in silence because I was afraid of what people would think if they knew the truth.
Everything changed the day I finally opened my heart and sought help from Evangelist Paulinus Paul.
That decision marked the beginning of my journey toward healing, freedom, and restoration. I discovered that victory begins when we stop hiding and allow God to work through His Word, His Spirit, and wise spiritual guidance.

SEVEN LESSONS I LEARNED DURING MY JOURNEY
1. ACCEPT YOUR STRUGGLE
Healing begins with honesty.
Until we acknowledge our weakness, we cannot experience God's transforming power. Pretending that everything is fine only gives sin more room to grow.
"If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it." — Genesis 4:7
2. LEARN TO WALK IN THE SPIRIT
Victory over sexual immorality is not achieved by human strength alone.
As we spend time in God's Word, prayer, worship, and obedience, the Holy Spirit gives us strength to overcome temptation.

3. IDENTIFY THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM
Many struggles begin long before the sinful behavior becomes visible.
Ask God to reveal the root of your battle. Sometimes the source may be childhood trauma, unhealthy influences, past relationships, or emotional wounds that still need healing. When the root is addressed, lasting transformation becomes possible.
4. SEPARATE YOURSELF FROM UNGODLY INFLUENCES
Our environment greatly affects our spiritual lives.

5. FILL YOUR MIND WITH GOD'S WORD

Instead of feeding your mind with worldly content, fill it with Scripture, worship, sound biblical teaching, and Christian books that strengthen your faith.

God's grace gives us strength to rise again whenever we genuinely repent.
6. DON'T FIGHT ALONE
One of the biggest mistakes many believers make is trying to fight secret battles in isolation.
Find mature Christians you can trust—people who will pray with you, encourage you, and lovingly hold you accountable. God often uses wise counsel and genuine fellowship as part of the healing process.
7. REMAIN PERSISTENT IN PRAYER
Freedom is often a journey rather than a single moment.
- Remain steadfast in prayer.
- Continue seeking God daily.
- Refuse to give up, even if the battle seems difficult.
The Lord rewards those who continually seek Him with sincere hearts.
