- Some business owners cheat customers with dishonest measurements and false promises.
- Some relatives seize the inheritance of widows and orphans because they believe the vulnerable cannot fight back.
Even worse, this spirit has found its way into many churches.

Some so-called ministers of the Gospel manipulate the poor by making promises God never made. They pressure struggling believers into giving beyond their ability while living extravagant lifestyles themselves.
Others measure spiritual success by financial gain instead of transformed lives. This is not the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Apostle Paul warned us in 1 Timothy 6:10:
"For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs."
Notice that Scripture does not say money is evil.
It says the love of money is the root from which many other sins grow.
Whenever greed takes control of the human heart, compassion begins to disappear.
People stop seeing others as souls created in God's image.
Instead, they see them as opportunities to exploit.
That is exactly how the hawk viewed the helpless chicks.
They were no longer living creatures.
They became nothing more than objects to satisfy her appetite.

God delights in proving that victory does not belong to the strongest, but to those who trust Him.
As Zechariah 4:6 declares:
"Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit," says the Lord Almighty.
A REBUKE TO THOSE WHO FEED ON THE WEAK
Sadly, our world is filled with modern-day hawks.
They are not birds.
They are people.
- Some wear expensive suits.
- Some occupy government offices.
- Some own businesses.
- Some stand behind church pulpits.
- Others live next door to us.
Their lifestyle is built on exploiting those who cannot defend themselves.
- Some employers force people to work long hours but refuse to pay them fairly.
- Some landlords deliberately increase rent beyond what struggling families can afford.
- Some politicians enrich themselves while millions suffer without basic necessities.
- Some relatives seize the property of widows because they know no one will defend them.
- Some pastors manipulate vulnerable people with fear, promising miracles in exchange for money while ignoring the true Gospel of repentance and salvation.
- Others deliberately destroy another person's reputation just to protect their own position.
- Some celebrate when others fail because another person's downfall creates an opportunity for their own promotion.
This is the spirit of the hawk.
It is the spirit of selfishness.
It is the spirit of greed.
It is the spirit that says, "As long as I prosper, I do not care who suffers."
But Scripture speaks clearly against such behaviour.
Proverbs 22:22-23 says:
"Do not exploit the poor because they are poor and do not crush the needy in court, for the Lord will take up their case and will exact life for life."

Notice that God does not merely observe injustice.
He defends the oppressed.
He becomes their Advocate.
He fights for those who have no human defender.
This should make every oppressor tremble.
- A poor person may not have influential friends.

- An orphan may have no voice in society.
But if they belong to God, heaven itself stands behind them.
Those who enrich themselves by causing others pain should repent while there is still time.
God's patience should never be mistaken for God's approval.
CHRISTIANS ARE CALLED TO PROTECT, NOT EXPLOIT
The greatest example of selfless love is Jesus Christ.
Throughout His earthly ministry, He never used people's weaknesses for personal gain.
- He defended the woman caught in adultery instead of condemning her.
- He touched the lepers everyone avoided.
- He fed hungry crowds instead of sending them away.
- He welcomed children whom society considered unimportant.
- He comforted the broken-hearted.
- He healed the sick.
- He forgave sinners.
Jesus never behaved like the hawk.
He behaved like the Good Shepherd who lays down His life for the sheep.
Sadly, some Christians have adopted the opposite attitude.
- Instead of restoring those who fall into sin, they mock them.
- Instead of praying for struggling believers, they gossip about them.
- Instead of helping the poor, they ignore them.
- Instead of encouraging young ministers, they compete against them.
- Instead of strengthening weak believers, they discourage them.
This should never be found among followers of Christ.
The Apostle Paul wrote in Galatians 6:2:
"Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfil the law of Christ."
The Church should be a place where the weak are strengthened, not where they are consumed.
FIGHT FOR WHAT GOD HAS ENTRUSTED TO YOU
The mother hen teaches another important lesson.
There are battles worth fighting. Not every conflict should be avoided.
There are moments when remaining silent is no longer wisdom—it becomes surrender.
- Fight for your faith.
- Fight for your family.
- Fight for your marriage.
- Fight for your children.
- Fight for your integrity.
- Fight for the truth of God's Word.

- Fight against every habit that seeks to destroy your relationship with Christ.
The Apostle Paul encouraged Timothy:
"Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called..." — 1 Timothy 6:12
This is not a fight with hatred or revenge.
- It is a fight of perseverance.
- A fight of obedience.
- A fight of prayer.
- A fight of unwavering faith in God.
Like the mother hen, never abandon what God has placed under your care simply because the enemy appears stronger.
Remember, one person standing with God is always stronger than an army standing without Him.
