The Power Of Sex
Friends, I am talking about the power in sex. Sex against the will of God is death. Sex is something that man can't explain how it is.
It is a powerful experience that affects a person emotionally, physically, relationally and spiritually, and that is the reason why we must not treat it casually or approach it as though it has no consequences.
Sex is a spiritual thing that brings either good or bad results to a person. That is the reason why we must do it with the right person because it goes with curse and blessing.
When having sex with the right person within the covenant of marriage, there are blessings that go with it. But when having it with the wrong person and outside God's established pattern, it brings spiritual consequences that can affect a person's relationship with God, conscience, emotions and future.
The Bible says in Hebrews 13:4:
“Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.”
This is why we cannot afford to treat sexual immorality as a small matter. When you are having sex with the wrong person, you are committing fornication, and fornication is destructive.
Many people call it fun, but what is fun about something that can gradually destroy your relationship with God, damage your conscience, create emotional wounds and take you further away from the purpose of God?
I pity such a person.
Sir or ma'am, it is a sin and it is known as fornication. It does not matter how common it has become in society. It does not matter how many people are doing it.
It does not matter whether your friends, colleagues or even some people who call themselves Christians are involved in it. If God has called it sin, then we must call it sin.
THE FOUNDATION YOU ARE BUILDING
See, let me tell you something you need to know: you are laying down a wrong foundation for yourself and for your generation when you deliberately continue in sexual immorality.
Every action has consequences, and the decisions we make today can influence the kind of person we become tomorrow.
Can you just look at the life of David?
He committed evil in the sight of God. Although he prayed for the mercy of God, God forgave him, and yet there were consequences that followed his actions....Forgiveness does not mean that every earthly consequence of an action automatically disappears. This is why we should not deliberately enter into sin because we believe we can always ask for forgiveness later.
Some believers in the church today are having sex before getting married.
I pity that brother or sister that is doing that.
No wonder the book of Ecclesiastes 12:14 says:
“For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”
Brotherly and sisterly, Christianity is not how you started. We are talking about how you end it. It is not enough to begin the Christian journey with excitement, attend church services, sing powerful songs, pray beautiful prayers and speak about Jesus publicly. We must continue walking with God in obedience, purity, humility and truth until the end.
YOU CAN LOOK SPIRITUAL AND STILL BE DYING INSIDE
There are believers who can pray very well and yet they are dead spiritually. It is not by praying. It is not by speaking in tongues. Even you can still preach and yet still be dead spiritually.
You can carry a Bible, attend church regularly, participate in ministry, lead prayers, sing in the choir, preach to thousands of people and still have a secret life that is taking you away from God.
What are we not saying?
Many people can see you as a spiritual brother or sister and yet God is seeing you as a spiritually dead person in the church. This is a serious matter because the opinion of people is not the final judgment.
People may applaud your appearance, but God sees your heart. People may celebrate your public ministry, but God knows what happens when nobody is watching.
There are powers in sexual sin that can destroy a person's spiritual sensitivity. When someone repeatedly chooses sexual immorality and refuses to repent, the conscience can gradually become hardened.
What once brought conviction may eventually become normal. What once caused tears may eventually become entertainment. What once made a person afraid of displeasing God may eventually become something they defend.
Check up your life, brother or sister. I am talking to you.
How is your life with God?
How is your relationship with God?
Is your way pleasing God?
These are questions we must ask ourselves honestly. Not questions for your neighbour. Not questions for your pastor alone. Not questions for the person sitting beside you in church. These are personal questions that every believer must answer before God.
THE SECRET SIN THAT CAN DESTROY A PUBLIC LIFE
Sometimes it pains me that many so-called believers are destroying the church all in the name of sex before marriage.
Many Christians are killing the church through lifestyles that contradict the gospel they preach.
Kai, where are we going?
A person can stand before others and speak against fornication while secretly practising it. A person can preach holiness while secretly watching pornography.
A person can counsel young people to remain pure while secretly living in sexual immorality.
A person can sing about the blood of Jesus while refusing to surrender a hidden sexual relationship.
This is dangerous because Christianity is not merely about what people see. Christianity is about becoming the person God wants you to be, both publicly and privately.
Matthew 10:26 says:
“Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.”
Remember, my brethren, God is aware of everything we are doing. Nothing is hidden from Him. There are things you can successfully hide from your parents, your spouse, your pastor, your friends and your church members, but nothing can be hidden from God.
You may delete the messages, but God saw them.
You may clear the browsing history, but God saw it.
You may lie about where you went, but God knows where you went.
You may present yourself as holy before people, but God knows the condition of your heart.
Therefore, the fear of God must become greater than the fear of being exposed by people.
SEX BEFORE MARRIAGE IS A SPIRITUAL WARNING
I repeat myself again:
SEX BEFORE MARRIAGE IS DEATH.
I believe that God is God and He never changes. His standards do not change because society has changed. His word does not become outdated because people have become more sexually permissive. What God called holiness yesterday remains holiness today.
Remember what Revelation 2:5 says:
“Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.”
This is a call to remember, repent and return.
Maybe you were once on fire for God. Maybe you once hated sin. Maybe you once spent hours praying. Maybe you once desired to please God more than anything else. Maybe you once had a tender heart that cried whenever you knew you had displeased the Lord.
But something changed.
A relationship came.
A sexual relationship began.
One compromise became another.
You started telling yourself that it was not serious.
Then your prayer life became weak.
Your Bible became less interesting.
Your spiritual hunger began to disappear.
And gradually, what started as a secret relationship became a spiritual chain.
Remember where you have fallen and repent.
FIVE DANGERS OF SEX BEFORE MARRIAGE
Now let me give you five reasons why sex before marriage can become spiritually and personally destructive.
1. YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD WILL BE AFFECTED
When a person deliberately continues in sexual immorality, the relationship between that person and God is affected. Sin creates separation in fellowship.
The issue is not that God stops loving the person, but that the person begins to move away from obedience and intimacy with Him.
You cannot continually embrace what God tells you to abandon and expect your spiritual life to remain unaffected. Something will change.
Your conscience can become weaker, your prayer life can become inconsistent, and your desire for holiness can gradually disappear.
This is why sexual purity is not merely about avoiding pregnancy or avoiding disease. It is also about honouring God with your body and your life.
2. YOU MAY EXPERIENCE FAILURE ON EVERY SIDE
Sexual immorality can bring consequences into different areas of life. It can produce emotional confusion, broken relationships, loss of trust, unwanted pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections, heartbreak, guilt, shame and other difficulties.
A person may enter a sexual relationship thinking, “We love each other,” only to discover later that the relationship was built more on physical desire than genuine commitment, responsibility and godly purpose.
When the foundation is wrong, the building becomes vulnerable.
This is why you must not allow temporary feelings to determine permanent decisions.
3. SPIRITUAL SICKNESS AND BACKWARDNESS CAN FOLLOW
Spiritual sickness, such as backwardness and poverty, etc., and physical affliction may also follow sinful choices.
We must be careful not to blame every hardship or sickness directly on a particular sin, because life is more complicated than that. However, sexual immorality can certainly produce real physical, emotional, relational and spiritual consequences.
The person who repeatedly compromises may find himself losing spiritual strength and discipline. He may become distracted from God's purpose.
He may lose opportunities because of irresponsible decisions. He may also carry emotional wounds for years because of relationships that were entered without wisdom.
Therefore, do not play with sin.
4. DISAPPOINTMENTS IN GREATNESS MAY SURROUND YOU
There are people with great potential who never become what God intended them to become because they continually allow their appetites to control them.
God may have given you gifts, talents, opportunities, intelligence, influence and a calling, but character is necessary to carry destiny. If a person's private life is constantly fighting against the values required for his public assignment, that person can sabotage his own progress.
You cannot afford to allow sexual appetite to become greater than your spiritual assignment.
There are people waiting for your ministry.
There are people waiting for your testimony.
There are people waiting for your obedience.
There are people waiting for the message God has placed inside you.
Do not destroy tomorrow because of what feels pleasurable today.
5. ETERNAL CONDEMNATION IS A SERIOUS WARNING
Death and eternal condemnation in hell for eternity will follow if a person refuses to repent and continues deliberately in sin.
As many of you that are having sex before marriage, repent from it because Hell is real. Jesus is coming. Prepare for Him.
The purpose of this warning is not to make people hopeless. The purpose is to wake people up before it is too late.
There is a difference between someone who has fallen and is willing to repent and someone who has decided to defend, celebrate and continue in sin without repentance.
If you have fallen, return.
If you have compromised, return.
If you have been living a double life, return.
If you have allowed sexual immorality to become stronger than your spiritual life, return.
There is still a call to repentance.
THEY ARE WAITING FOR YOU
My sister, the reason you are not showing off your nipples is because there are cripples waiting for you to show them the healing power of God.
My dear, the reason you are not interested in showing off your butts is because you have decided to kick the butts of demons out of the lives of those people that are waiting for you to bring them to deliverance.
My dear sisters, they are waiting for YOU.
Is it fair for you to be tweaking your butt and catwalking when the devil is wrecking the lives of people?
What about that mad woman in your street?
How will you drive the madness out of her head if the only thing on your head is Brazilian hair?
Father, before I attach the hair of any country on my head, may I first of all attach the lost souls in that country to the kingdom of God.
This is a call to purpose. There is nothing wrong with looking beautiful, taking care of yourself, dressing well or appreciating good things. The question is whether these things have become greater than your spiritual assignment. Beauty is not your purpose. Fashion is not your purpose. Attention from men is not your purpose.
There is something greater that God wants to do through your life.
WHO WILL GROAN FOR THE SOULS OF MEN?
Ah, sisters, you can't join them to be moaning in hotels just for the money of men. If you join them, who will groan for the souls of men?
My sister, creation is waiting for you.
Not your village.
Not your country.
Not even your continent.
But creation.
Dear, the world is waiting for you.
There are people you may never meet physically who may one day be touched because you decided to live for God. There are young women who need to see that holiness is possible. There are young men who need to know that sexual purity is possible. There are broken people who need to hear that Jesus still saves, restores and delivers.
Your life can become a message.
Your purity can become a testimony.
Your obedience can become a doorway through which another person discovers Christ.
WHAT ARE YOU OFFERING TO YOUR GENERATION?
My sister, you can't join other ladies to buy alcoholic wine. There are nations waiting for you to give them fiery wine.
You can't be asking for urgent 2k when the Holy Ghost is urgently asking you for souls.
You shouldn't be bothered about dressing hot to set the hormones of men on fire because there are millions of people waiting for you to come and set them on fire for God.
This is not an attack on women. It is a call to every believer, both male and female, to remember purpose. Men also have responsibilities. Men must stop treating women as objects of sexual gratification. Men must learn self-control, honour, purity and responsibility.
The church needs men and women who are willing to live differently.
We need believers whose private lives agree with their public confession.
We need Christians who can say no when nobody is watching.
We need young people who understand that their bodies are not tools for satisfying every desire.
We need a generation that understands that sexual purity is not old-fashioned. It is obedience to God.
THE KITCHEN OF IMMORALITIES OR THE RECIPE OF REVIVAL?
Holy Ghost, they said, “A woman's place is in the kitchen.”
Ah, Father, take Your daughters from the kitchen of immoralities and show them the recipe of revival.
Show them how to cook up hunger for You in the hearts of men through the fire of the Holy Ghost.
The question is not merely where a woman belongs physically. The greater question is where her heart belongs spiritually. God can use a woman in the home, in ministry, in business, in education, in medicine, in leadership, in evangelism and in countless other areas. What matters is that she belongs to Christ and uses her gifts for His glory.
The same is true for men.
Where are the men who will burn for God?
Where are the women who will burn for God?
Where are the young people who will choose purpose over pleasure?
Where are the believers who will choose holiness when nobody is applauding?
WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST DESIRE?
What's your greatest desire?
What's your passion?
What's your purpose?
These questions deserve serious answers.
What do you want your life to represent?
When people remember you, what do you want them to remember?
When your generation looks at you, what will they see?
Will they see someone who lived only for pleasure, appearance, money and attention, or will they see someone who surrendered everything to God?
What's life when you are useful to men but useless to heaven?
This question should make us think deeply. It is possible to become popular and still be spiritually empty. It is possible to be admired by people and ignored by God because our hearts have wandered away from Him.
Where are the sons and daughters of Zion who are ready to burn for God and not for fleshy passion?
Where are generations who will receive the prophecy of Joel, who will carry the Spirit, host God and legislate for Kingdom matters?
Where are those who will say, “Lord, my life belongs to You”?
HAVE WE BEEN DELETED FROM DIVINE AGENDA?
Hope we've not been deleted from Divine AGENDA?
Hope God still finds pleasure in us?
Hope our secret sins have not sunk our destiny?
These are questions that should drive us to repentance, not despair. If you know that something is wrong in your life, do not run away from God. Run toward Him.
The devil wants a person to sin and then believe that God will never accept him again. But the call of Christ is still a call to repentance, restoration and transformation.
Generation, await your manifestation.
You can't afford to fail.
You can't afford to take grace for granted.
You cannot continue treating the mercy of God as permission to remain in sin. Grace is not an excuse for disobedience. Grace empowers us to turn away from sin and walk in righteousness.
RETURN TO THE FIRE
You can come to Him and submit again for fresh fire. Our Father is ready to enlist us again by mercy and prepare us for this end-time revival.
Maybe your fire has gone down.
Maybe your prayer life is no longer what it used to be.
Maybe you have been trapped in a sexual relationship that you know is not God's will.
Maybe pornography has secretly taken control of your mind.
Maybe masturbation has become a habit you have struggled to break.
Maybe fornication has become normal in your relationship.
Maybe you have been living a double life, appearing spiritual before people while secretly battling sexual sin.
Do not hide forever.
Come back to God.
Confess your sin.
Repent genuinely.
Cut off what needs to be cut off.
Set boundaries.
Seek godly counsel.
Avoid situations that continually lead you into temptation.
Do not keep feeding the same appetite and then wonder why the appetite remains strong.
There is hope for the person who genuinely wants to change.
There is mercy for the person who turns back.
There is restoration for the person who submits to God.
JESUS IS COMING — PREPARE FOR HIM
As many of you that are having sex before marriage, repent from it because Hell is real.
Jesus is coming.
Prepare for Him.
Do not wait until your life is exposed before you decide to change. Do not wait until your relationship collapses. Do not wait until you lose your spiritual sensitivity. Do not wait until consequences become too painful.
Repent now.
Return now.
Choose holiness now.
Choose obedience now.
Choose Jesus now.
The world may tell you that sexual purity is impossible. The world may tell you that everybody is doing it. The world may tell you that you should follow your feelings. But the believer is not called to follow every feeling. We are called to follow Christ.
Your body belongs to God.
Your future belongs to God.
Your calling belongs to God.
Your sexuality must also be surrendered to God.
YOUR LIFE IS MORE THAN SEX
Never allow sexual desire to make you forget who you are.
You are more than your body.
You are more than your appearance.
You are more than the attention you receive from the opposite sex.
You are more than the money someone can offer you.
You are more than a relationship status.
You are more than temporary pleasure.
There is a purpose attached to your life.
There are people connected to your obedience.
There are people who may never know Christ unless somebody carries the gospel to them. Perhaps God wants to use you to reach them.
Therefore, do not trade your assignment for a moment of pleasure.
Do not trade your peace for a secret relationship.
Do not trade your spiritual fire for sexual gratification.
Do not trade your destiny for something that cannot satisfy your soul.
HEAVEN IS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO ARE PREPARED
May the Lord set us on fire again.
May He restore our hunger for righteousness.
May He restore our hatred for sin.
May He restore our desire for prayer.
May He restore our passion for souls.
May He restore our commitment to holiness.
May He help us to live what we preach.
May He help us to become the people He has called us to become.
Heaven is prepared for those who are prepared.
ARE YOU PREPARED?
Do not merely ask whether you are prepared for marriage, success, ministry, business or the future. Ask whether you are prepared to stand before God. Ask whether your heart is right with Him. Ask whether your private life agrees with your public confession.
The greatest preparation is preparation for eternity.
A FINAL CALL TO REPENTANCE
My brother, my sister, if you have been involved in sex before marriage, do not allow shame to keep you away from God. The right response is repentance. You do not have to continue because you have already fallen.
Your past does not have to become your permanent identity.
You can turn around.
You can begin again.
You can surrender again.
You can rebuild your spiritual life.
You can ask God for mercy.
You can seek help.
You can establish godly boundaries.
You can walk away from relationships that are destroying your faith.
You can decide that from today, your body, your emotions, your relationships and your future will be submitted to the will of God.
Do not allow the enemy to convince you that you are finished.
Come back to Jesus.
Our Father is ready to receive those who genuinely return to Him. His mercy is greater than your failure, but His mercy should lead you to repentance rather than encourage you to continue in sin.
“Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works.”
Generation, this is the hour to wake up.
This is the hour to return to the altar.
This is the hour to deal with secret sins.
This is the hour to stop playing church.
This is the hour to stop pretending.
This is the hour to seek God again.
This is the hour to burn again.
This is the hour to live for Jesus.
May the Lord set us on fire again.
May He restore our spiritual sensitivity.
May He cleanse our hearts.
May He purify our desires.
May He make us vessels that He can trust.
May He raise a generation that will not bow to sexual immorality, worldly pressure or the desires of the flesh, but will stand firmly for Christ.
Heaven is prepared for those who are prepared.
