As an ex-Muslim, let me tell you why you need to keep praying for Muslims.
Muslims are simply in a cult. They may never agree with me, and honestly, I do not expect them to. If I were still a Muslim today, I would probably react exactly the same way because I once did.
When I was a Muslim, I served Allah with all my heart. My devotion was unquestionable. I became so radical that I even composed an entire song mocking Christianity and Jesus Christ.
Many Muslims will say that no genuine Muslim mocks Jesus. In my experience, that is because they never reached the level of extremism that I eventually embraced. I did.

HOW RELIGIOUS ZEAL TURNED INTO HOSTILITY
Whenever Christians came to our village to organize crusades, our malams would stir us up against them.
I even led a group of young men. We would hide, throw stones at the Christians, and destroy their equipment. The only thing I never did was take someone's life, not because I lacked the desire at that time, but simply because I never had the opportunity.
From the age of seven, we were taught to defend Islam with our lives.
That experience explains why many Muslims react differently when Allah is criticized compared to when Muhammad is mentioned.
The moment Muhammad is criticized, everything changes. The reaction becomes immediate and intense.
WHY ?
According to my understanding and experience, Muhammad taught his followers to defend him at all costs.
Many of the statements people make about Muhammad are not intended as insults. Rather, they refer to events recorded about his life. Yet, in many situations, even mentioning those events can provoke violent reactions.
WHY QUESTIONS ARE OFTEN DISCOURAGED
Looking back, I often asked myself several important questions.
- Why encourage followers to defend a religious leader at all costs?
- Why tell people to attack those who criticize him?
- Why discourage sincere questions?
From my perspective, the answer became clear after I left Islam.
I came to believe that once people begin asking honest questions and sincerely searching for truth, many eventually discover things that lead them to reconsider what they have always believed.
That realization changed my life forever.
I also came to believe that many Muslims have been sincerely deceived without realizing it.

MANY ARE SINCERE, NOT EVIL
One lesson I have learned is that many people involved in violence or religious extremism are not necessarily evil people.
Many genuinely believe they are serving God.
I know this because I once believed exactly the same thing.
Today, after giving my life to Jesus Christ, those same people now reject me.
Some stone me.
Some attack me.
Ironically, the very song I once composed to mock Christians is now the same song they sing whenever I return to preach the Gospel. They use my own words against me.
WHY I ACCEPT PERSECUTION WITH JOY
People often ask why I receive such treatment without bitterness.
The answer is simple.
I now understand what those missionaries must have felt when I mocked them, insulted them, and threw stones at them years ago.
The same rejection I once gave to Christians is now the rejection I receive.
God has allowed me to experience both sides of the story, and I accept that reality with joy.

A GENUINE ENCOUNTER WITH JESUS CHANGES EVERYTHING
Many people wonder why I have become so passionate about preaching Christ.
The reason is simple.
I know whom I encountered.
If those who insult Jesus online were to experience a genuine encounter with Him, everything would change.
No one would need to force them.
No one would need to persuade them endlessly.
They would willingly humble themselves before Him.
Those who truly know me understand that I am not telling stories.
Only people who never knew my past claim that I was never a Muslim.
But those who witnessed my former life understand that this kind of transformation cannot be explained apart from a real encounter with Jesus Christ.
Whether people choose to believe my testimony or not is entirely up to them.
I am not proud that I was once a Muslim.
My desire is simply to point people to Christ.
WHY CHRISTIANS SHOULD CONTINUE PRAYING FOR MUSLIMS
Only God knows how many times I have escaped death because of this assignment.
Yet, by His grace, I will continue.
That is why I ask believers everywhere to keep praying for Muslims.
Arguments and debates alone will never change every heart.
Prayer reaches places where debates cannot.
Yes, exposing falsehood has helped many people discover Christ.
It has also strengthened the faith of many believers.
However, there are still countless people whose lives will only be transformed through prayer and a genuine encounter with Jesus Christ.
Whenever you meet someone who is passionately devoted to Allah, do not lose hope.
Pray for them.
The same passion they currently have can one day become passion for Christ.
I know this because it happened to me.
