A Journey Of Faith, Failure, And God's Mercy
Every testimony is a reminder that God can use imperfect people to accomplish His perfect purpose.
My Name is Evangelist Paulinus Paul from Nigeria and....
My own journey has been marked by victories, failures, disappointments, and moments of extraordinary grace....Looking back today, I can confidently say that every difficult season became part of God's training for the assignment He entrusted to me.
I was born into a strong Christian family where the fear of God was taught from childhood.
My parents desired to raise us according to biblical principles, and from an early age I developed a passion for God. As a student, I excelled academically and consistently ranked among the best in my class.
... Deep within my heart, I dreamed of becoming a great servant of God who would impact my generation for Christ.
Yet, despite my Christian upbringing and academic success, I found myself struggling with hidden sins that gradually weakened my spiritual life. For many years I battled pornography and masturbation in secret.
The struggle filled my heart with guilt and shame because I sincerely loved God and desired to live a holy life, yet I repeatedly found myself falling... Before I entered senior secondary school, my mother took my siblings and me to a church programme.
During the service, a prophet called me forward and asked what I wanted to become in life.
I answered that I wanted to become a businessman.
He smiled and said, "I see you becoming something great, but only if you live your life well."
Those words never left my heart...
Whenever I stumbled spiritually, I remembered that prophecy and cried before God, asking Him to help me become the person He wanted me to be.
Although I prayed, fasted, and sought deliverance, the struggle continued for years.
At times I became discouraged, but I refused to abandon my faith completely because I believed God would eventually give me victory.
Everything changed after I encountered a powerful testimony about heaven and hell.
The message awakened a fresh fear of God within me and reminded me that eternity is real. That encounter led me to genuine repentance, water baptism, and a renewed commitment to serving Christ.
From that point onward, I immersed myself in evangelism. I preached at bus stops, organised early morning outreaches, separated myself from worldly distractions, and dedicated my life to studying God's Word.
Although my spiritual growth continued, the journey toward complete freedom required perseverance and dependence upon God's grace.
.... Looking back today, I thank God that He gave me victory after years of struggle, and He now uses my testimony to encourage others never to give up in their own battles.
MY SECOND ENCOUNTER THROUGH A VISION
In 2019, I experienced what remains one of the most significant moments of my spiritual journey.
One night, while laying on my bed... I became aware that I was being lifted upward by an unseen force in the spiritual realm.
I could not see who was carrying me, yet I sensed I was being guided somewhere with purpose.
As I was carried higher, I found myself overlooking a large piece of land. The land was wide, beautiful, and completely cleared, as though it had been carefully prepared for future development. Everything about it appeared orderly and peaceful.
Moments later, I was gently brought down onto the land.
When I turned around, I saw a young man clothed in white garments standing before me. Although no formal introduction was given, I inwardly believed I was standing in the presence of the LORD JESUS CHRIST.
Instead of quietly observing the moment, I immediately began asking questions.
At that period of my life, I was deeply concerned about three things
- My ministry,
- My business,
- My future marriage.
Those concerns had occupied my thoughts for a long time, and I desperately wanted answers.
I repeatedly asked Him why certain prayers seemed delayed.
- I asked when my business would prosper.
- I asked about marriage.
- I asked about ministry.
He remained silent.
Then He bent down and appeared to write something on the ground while I continued speaking.
Finally, He looked at me and asked a question that completely changed my perspective..
"Am I not good to you? Have I not been kind to you?"
Those words pierced my heart.
Immediately, I replied, "Lord, You have truly been faithful and gracious to me."
Yet I still added, "But what about my business? I want to start a new business."
Then He answered: "If you start your business now, things will be difficult for you."
After saying this, He came closer and quietly asked another question:
"What do you have?"
I mentioned the little money that remained in my account. It was a very small amount because I had recently used most of my savings to buy a phone for someone who had none.
After listening, He simply replied, "Okay."
At that moment, I became fully conscious and the vision ended..
UNDERSTANDING THE MESSAGE
When I stood up from my bed, I was disappointed because I expected more detailed answers.
However, as time passed, I gradually understood what I believe God was teaching me.
Rather than rushing into business because of financial pressure, I sensed I needed to first learn, prepare, and understand the business before investing my resources.
... Instead of relying on emotion, I needed wisdom.
.... Instead of running ahead, I needed patience.
... Instead of demanding immediate results, I needed to trust God's timing.
That lesson changed my approach completely.
I devoted time to learning the business, studying it carefully, and acquiring practical knowledge before making major financial commitments.
Looking back today, I can honestly say that this decision became one of the greatest blessings of my life.
God established me step by step, and I eventually became settled in the business He directed me toward.
Today, I am also happily MARRIED, and my faith in God has grown stronger because I have repeatedly witnessed His faithfulness through every season of my life.
A CONFIRMATION THAT STRENGTHENED MY FAITH
In 2020, I watched the FILM title "Heaven Is for Real" based on the testimony of a young boy named Colton Burpo, who described what he believed he saw during a near-death experience.
Near the end of the story, his father asked him whether paintings commonly found on earth accurately represented Jesus.
The boy replied that they did not.
Later, his father discovered the artwork of Miss Akiane Kramarik, a young artist who said she painted scenes inspired by spiritual experiences she believed she had received.
According to the story, when Colton saw one particular painting, he immediately said it most closely matched the face he remembered.
As I looked at that painting myself, I was surprised because it reminded me of the appearance I personally remembered from my own earlier visions.
For me, this was deeply encouraging. While I recognise that Christians may hold different views about personal visions and artistic depictions of Jesus, the experience strengthened my own faith and reminded me once again that Christ is alive and actively involved in the lives of those who trust Him.
CONCLUSION
Life's greatest lessons are often learned during seasons of waiting.
God's delays are not always His denials.
Sometimes He withholds an opportunity because He first wants to prepare the person who will receive it.
My testimony is not about perfection.
.... It is about God's mercy, patience, and faithfulness toward someone who chose to keep seeking Him despite failures, disappointments, and unanswered questions.
- If you are waiting for direction, continue trusting God....
- If you are praying for breakthrough, remain faithful...
- If your journey seems difficult, remember that preparation often comes before promotion.
Above all, keep your eyes fixed on Jesus Christ. He is faithful to lead those who sincerely seek Him, and His timing is always better than our own.

CONFESSION AND ACCEPTANCE OF CHRIST
Dear Lord Jesus Christ; I admit that I am a sinner. I have done many things that don’t please you. I have lived my life for myself only. I am sorry, and I repent. I ask you to forgive me. I believe that you died on the cross for me, to save me.
You did what I could not do for myself. I come to you now and ask you to take control of my life; I give it to you. From this day forward, help me to live every day for you and in a way that pleases you. I love you, Lord Jesus, and I thank you that I will spend all eternity with you in Jesus name i pray. Amen
